The use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) can increase the chance of survival for someone suffering an SCA (Sudden Cardiac Arrest) by up to 50%. It is intended for use by the layman in addition to standard CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) techniques. Instructions for giving CPR and when to use the defibrillator can be found below.
