Parish Council
With Christmas approaching, the Theatre Guild are of course in full swing with rehearsals for this year’s pantomime. You will find the poster advertising this elsewhere in the Recorder and as you will see, it is again being put on at the end of January so something to banish those post Christmas blues!
The pantomime this year is ‘Goldie Locks’ – a slightly alternative version of the traditional one with Goldie Locks as a very accomplished jewel thief. It wouldn’t be Goldie Locks without the Three Bears, but there are also a number of guest appearances by many other favourites from Pantoland including Snow White – with a few dwarves for company; the Big Bad Wolf; a Wicked Queen; oh and rather a lot of Bees…..– what more could you ask for from a pantomime?
The guild is very much a flourishing organisation but can always use more recruits, both for acting roles but also for all the backstage activities needed to run a production. So if you have ever had a hankering for ‘treading the boards’, would like to get involved in some of the more technical aspects or just come and help sell programmes, we would really welcome you.
If any of this appeals to you or you would just like to come along to a rehearsal to see what we do, then please get in touch on the number below. The Stonham Theatre Guild (STG) was formed in 2006 with the aim of encouraging people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to become involved is every aspect of drama and theatre. Since then we have produced 16 pantomimes as well as providing a range of entertainment at village events. Staying true to the aims, the current membership spans the ages of 6 to nearly 90 so truly a multi-generation organisation!
